In the past decade, Sefi's trumpet has become the trademark within the Israeli's music scene with his ongoing distinctive style that can only be described as a melting pot of musical genres including Jazz, soul and groove.

Performing in an array of bands since his early teens, Sefi has staged and recorded sessions with almost every key player of the Jazz world in Israel ans was recently appointed as creative director of Tel-Aviv Jazz Festival.

Building on his debut LP 'Beyond The Things I Know' (2017), that released on Raw Tapes - Tel Aviv's leading collective, and championed by the likes of Gilles Peterson (BBC 6Music), Stamp The Wax, Toshio Matsuura (Worldwide FM), NTS, FIP, Radio Nova, Twistedsoul.

Matering the art of trumpeting, Sefi has transcended his role as an instrumentalist on 'Expanse', his sophomore album that came out on Tru Thoughts UK, evolving and expanding into a composer' producer and creative force to be reckoned with. Inspired by his childhood heroes of John Coltrane, Grant Green and Fred Wesly, 'Expanse' combines the sounds od afro-jazz, psychedelic funk and spiritual jazz to create an album that echoes the great creators of Alice Coltrane, Fela Kuti and Donald Byrd, while pacing a new path - all catalysed through the trumpet.

Sefi's recent recording was 'Welcome Sunset' that was released in May 2022 also on Tru Thoughts UK. Across 'Welcome Sunset', crisp basslines lay the foundation for colourful strings and horn arrangements over tight funk beats and percussion. The opening song "Older & Wiser" is ab adventurous experiment with abstract, jumpy melodies over afro-rhythms and the prince-esque funk of "Sexy F.M", while the title track "Welcome Sunset" is a love letter to the crossroads between funk, soul and jazz. The artwork for 'Welcome Sunset' is created by Melbourne artist A.Kid, who carved the design out of a chunk of wood.
