Garden City Movement is a Tel Aviv-based electronic trio consisting of Roy Avital, Yoav Saar and Johnny Sharoni. The three produce sweet hypnotic beats to ground floor bass heavy tracks.
GCM first made waves with the release of their debut EP Entertainment in 2013, which garnered early press champions as numerous Hype Machine influential blogs, Pitchfork, Clash, The FADER, Stereogum and FACT, which created a short documentary about “The rising stars of Tel Aviv.”

With millions of streams, screenings at the LA film festival, Garden City Movement scored support slots for acts such as Alt-J, Cults, SOHN & Rüfüs Du Sol, in addition to their debut appearance on the Boiler Room. The trio intensively toured Europe and was on festival bills such as Primavera, Pukkelpop, Glastonbury & Fusion.

Bengali Cinema, their second EP, continued Entertainment‘s media praise. They dominated Hype Machine’s top 3 for three days straight with Terracotta, and were featured in the vast blogosphere as “The Band to Watch.”
In April 2015, the band teamed up with The Vinyl Factory and released Modern West, their 3rd and final EP in the trilogy.
Recording through 2017 at their studio in Tel Aviv, Garden City Movement took the time to explore their sound as a band. Their debut album Apollonia, released in March 2018, took a darker path lyrically; exploring the breakdown of a fading relationship and the depression, loneliness and abuse that follows. The leading track, Miss You (Under Shimokita Sky), quickly went viral and was premiered on Clash and included in Spotify’s worldwide “Indie Pop” playlist. Over the past year the band finished their 2nd album which includes collaborations with artists such as: Lola Marsh, Dreamcast & The Undercover Dream Lovers. It is due to be released in 2022.
