Releasing her debut album 'Heaven Knows' to critical review in June 2022, Mica Millar has quickly become one of the UK brightest new Soul stars, picking up Jazz FM's 'Soul Act of The Year 2022' award alongside a nomination for 'Breakthrough Act of The Year' and featuring on the front cover of the iconic Blues & Soul Magazine amidst an array of five star album and live reviews and national radio support.
Following two monumental album launch shows including a sold out show at Jazz Café, London and a performance filling out the iconic Albert Hall, Manchester, Mica performed at EFG London Jazz Festival’s Jazz Voice at Royal Festival Hall with the backing of the 42-piece Festival Orchestra, broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 and televised on BBC 4. She has since announced her first national UK tour including shows in London, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Edinburg, Glasgow and Aberdeen.
Mica will also perform at Love Supreme Festival, Mostly Soul Jazz & Funk Festival and Cheltenham Jazz Festival where she will take to the stage for both a headline arena show and a special guest appearance with Guy Barker and the BBC Orchestra for BBC 4 broadcast.
Mastered at the iconic Abbey Road Studios in late 2021 ‘Heaven Knows’ is self-written, arranged and produced, exploring themes of human nature, spirituality, love, oppression, inequality and empowerment, drawing inspiration from a plethora of vintage soundscapes, most notably, soul, blues, gospel and jazz.
Amassing over two million streams on Spotify alone since it's release in June, ‘Heaven Knows’ has achieved support from the likes of Trevor Nelson (BBC Radio 2), Craig Charles & Tom Robinson (6 Music), Victoria Jane (BBC Radio 1), Clive Anderson (BBC Radio 4: Loose Ends), Good Morning Sunday and Jazz FM who supported with Album of The Week and a continued string of A list slots for her singles.
