Noya Rao are vocalist Olivia Bhattacharjee, drummer Matt Davies, keys player & producer Tom Henry and bassist Chris Dagger. The band draws upon influences old and new, combining throwback soundscapes with contemporary songwriting. A fixation on analogue synthesisers blended with an acoustic continuum of vocals and drums results in a genre-defying repertory of synth-drenched, beat driven music with a vintage aesthetic. Their completely DIY ethos allows them to control each parameter of their output from writing, recording, producing, artwork and videos.

Since the release of their debut album Icaros, Leeds based electronic-soul quartet, Noya Rao have been noted as one of the rising talents of the UK Jazz scene. In 2019, they were selected by London’s Jazz Re:freshed team to play in their 2020 SXSW showcase alongside Kokoroko, Steamdown and Richard Spaven. In 2021 Noya Rao were awarded PPL Momentum Accelerator Funding, cementing their position as an exciting artist with a growing fanbase.
