Jembaa Groove is fast becoming one of the most exciting forces in the global Afro-Jazz and contemporary Highlife scene. With their vibrant fusion of Ghanaian rhythms, soulful jazz textures, and forward-thinking production, the Berlin-based collective has captured the attention of audiences and tastemakers around the world.

Since the release of their critically acclaimed debut album “Susuma” in 2022, followed by the powerful sophomore release “Ye Ankasa / We Ourselves” in 2024, Jembaa Groove has established a signature sound that feels both rooted and future-facing. Their music is a celebration of heritage and innovation—drawing on the rich traditions of Ghanaian Highlife while pushing boldly into the realms of soul, funk, and modern jazz.

Through countless electrifying performances across Europe, the UK, Africa, and the United States, the band has earned a reputation for delivering deeply immersive live shows—filled with intricate rhythms, tight grooves, and a palpable sense of connection. Their presence on stages from global festivals to underground venues has made them a standout name in the new wave of African-rooted jazz.

Now, with their 2025 World Tour, Jembaa Groove is stepping into a thrilling new chapter. With a fresh lineup and a new collection of songs set to release in fall 2025, the band is deepening its collaborations and expanding its sonic palette. This next phase sees them joining forces with leading voices from Lagos’ dynamic Afro-Fusion scene—including the genre-defining The Cavemen., iconic Malian vocalist Fatoumata Diawara, and rising Nigerian star Tim Lyre—for a bold, contemporary take on Highlife, Afrobeat, and jazz.

The tour also welcomes two of Europe’s most exciting jazz talents into the fold: Hungarian pianist and producer Szabolcs “Abase” Bognár and Ghanaian trumpeter Peter Somuah, both of whom bring a fresh, improvisational energy to the group’s evolving sound.

Jembaa Groove isn’t just part of the Afro-Jazz conversation—they’re helping to shape it. With their unmistakable blend of tradition and innovation, they represent a global, genre-blurring movement rooted in African rhythms and universal stories. Their 2025 tour promises to be more than a series of shows—it’s a musical journey that connects continents, generations, and cultures.
