Asfar Shamsi is the story of a child who loved getting lost between the aisles of FNAC (a large French entertainment and electronics retail chain), never far from the CD listening stations with their oversized headphones. Of a teenager who discovered rap and fell in love with it to the point of writing her first lyrics. Of a young adult who finally decided to share the songs she had been crafting in her bedroom.
Belonging to a generation that blurs the boundaries between musical genres, she quite naturally refuses to choose. Her music fits into a “post-rap” pop space, where the lyrics are rap in their structure, pop in their tone, and the productions range from intimate to electronic or airy.
After a first EP in 2023 and a second one released this past February, her track 2006, teased on Youssef Swatt’s Planète Rap, brought her a new level of exposure.
