Star Slinger (Born Darren Williams) is a producer and DJ based in Manchester, UK. Taking his influences mainly from house and hip-hop, Star Slinger first came to wider attention after self-releasing a beat tape in the summer of 2010 entitled “Volume 1”. From then on, Williams picked up noteworthy press interest from Pitchfork Media, SPIN Magazine, Dazed & Confused Magazine as well as being a regular musical contributor on BBC Radio 1 and Radio 1 Xtra.
The past few years have seen Star collaborating with a large number of artists, includng Juicy J, Project Pat, Lil B, Stunnaman, Reggie B & Miguel. Regularly in demand for his commercially and critically acclaimed remixes. he has reworked and refixed tracks for Duke Dumont, London Grammar, Jessie Ware, Ellie Goulding and Gold Panda, as well as Kendrick Lamar on his emphatic “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe”. His musical presence over the past four years has also lead to him providing mixes for Mistajam show (BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra) as well as Paris Social Club and the infamous DJ Mag. - (View and listen to the recently noted mixes & remixes: )
Williams has toured extensively over the world with the likes of ASAP Rocky plus appearances at major event/festival appearances such as Glastonbury (UK) and Lollapalooza (US). Additionally he is a fixture on the club circuit across North America, Europe and beyond.
The two years has seen Star Slinger set up his own label and DJ night, both entitled Jet Jam, plus finishing up his debut album. The record, featuring a strong cast of collaborators and vocalists, will appear towards the end of 2015.
